Film Messenger, founded in 2002, is
experiencing rapid growth along with

Supporting Short Films
In 2002, Film Messenger has started as
specialized distribution company for short
films. Our main goal as distributing over 60
Korean original and innovative short films in fictions, animations and documentaries
was to offer an apposite marketing and best
distribution for each film and also to
cultivate the relationship with potential
directors, producers, and actors for a
future network.
World Sales of Feature Films
In 2005, Film Messenger began first
international sales with Korean Feature Film
<The Unforgiven>, Dir. Jong-bin Yoon. With a
successful performance of acclaimed film
<The Unforgiven> at ¡®Un Certain Regard¡¯ in
2006 Festival de Cannes, Film Messenger has
entered actively into the industry. Handling
Dir. Leesong Hee-il¡¯s <No Regret>, Dir. Min
Boung-hun¡¯s <Pruning the Grapevine>, Dir.
Sung Ji-hae¡¯s <Before the Summer Passes
Away> and Dir. Noh Dong-seok¡¯s <Boys of
Tomorrow>, Film Messenger has earned the
recognition for company¡¯s capabilities and
possibilities as a noticeable sales company.
Domestic Theatrical Distribution
In 2006, Film Messenger handled both
domestic distribution and international
sales of Dir. Lee Chang-jae¡¯s documentary
film <Between>. Its releasing in Sep., 2006
in Korea achieved a most remarkable box
office record in Korean Documentary history
which was breaking the score of Dir. Kim
Dong-won¡¯s <Repatriation>. This achievement
was made possible for a number of reasons
including entertaining nature of film, clear
targeting of the audience, effective
marketing plan, and the cooperation between
exhibitors and PR companies.
And also Film Messenger is acquiring
documentaries and feature films from abroad
based upon our strong relationship with
Korean theatres and TV stations. The company
is currently planning an inception of
acquiring films which has commercial
potential from this year of 2007. Feature
films picked up by Film Messenger will
establish the leading brand in Korean movie
industry. From art-house films to commercial
films, Film Messenger will present each film
with apposite marketing in best positioning
in order to meet with greater audiences.
Film Production
In 2007, Film Messenger is currently
arranging the project for launching the
production company from developing scripts,
financing to distribution in overall
process. This project, overcoming the
language and nationality, will be presented
to worldwide including U.S.A and Europe.
Film Messenger is giving full support to
this project in order to achieve maximum
ends with minimum expense.
